As many as 15 promising startups are ready to pitch their visions to an audience of entrepreneurial investors. They span a wide range of technology domains, including medtech, robotics, AI-based SEO and other digital solutions & platforms.
In addition to the 15 pitches, the audience will also get two inspiring keynotes. Geeta Schmidt, co-founder of Humio and now partner at Seed Capital, and Peter Hede, partner at Nordic Eye Growth & Venture Capital, will talk about the startup and investor perspective respectively when scaling a business. In addition, a panel discussion with experienced investors will further shed light on the dilemmas that arise during scaling.
‘Although Denmark has made progress in securing capital at different stages of development, there is still room for improvement in collaboration, interfaces and models. Too many promising startups still struggle to raise the necessary funding for the next stage of growth. Together with our partners, we look forward to a summit that makes a special effort for the startup ecosystem in the region, with new initiatives and a record number of participants this year,’ says Jacob Doktor Mogensen, Director of Communications, Community & Acceleration at INCUBA.
‘Around half of all jobs in Aarhus are created by entrepreneurs and startups. Aarhus Investor Summit is therefore an important event. Here, investors gather and we see exciting entrepreneurs and successful investments that have been given a launch pad to create more companies and jobs in Aarhus. Aarhus Municipality wants to continue to promote entrepreneurship, investment and growth in startups, which is why we are once again a partner in this year's Aarhus Investor Summit,’ says Søren Boel Pedersen, Manager at Aarhus Municipality, who would like to praise the budding startup and investor community, which has really developed in recent years.
At the Aarhus Investor Summit, the INCUBA awards ‘Startup of the Year’ and ‘Investor of the Year’ will also be presented, both of which aim to highlight local enthusiasts who create significant results and inspire others with their efforts in the entrepreneurial environment in Central Jutland.
A jury consisting of players from the Aarhus startup and investor community has selected the finalists in each category. In the final to win the ‘Startup of the Year’ award are: Battman Energy, Kanpla, Norfalk and Teitur Trophics, while investors Christian Vinther at Founderment, Pernille Lynggaard Frandsen and Stefan Rosenlund are vying for the title of ‘Investor of the Year’.
