Recap of Aarhus Investor Summit 2026

130 investors and industry professionals gathered at INCUBA Next on October 8 for Aarhus Investor Summit 2026. Under the theme “How do we navigate change?”, the summit explored Europe’s technological sovereignty, new approaches to venture investing, and the opportunities emerging in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Bringing the investment community together

This year, Aarhus Investor Summit brought together a dedicated audience of business angels, venture capital funds, and key players from the Danish and international investment community.

With participants representing organisations such as EIFO, Seed Capital, Antler, Founderment, Second Foundation Ventures, Spintop Ventures, Nordic Alpha Partners, Climentum Capital, and Delphinus VC, the summit provided a platform for exchanging perspectives, exploring investment opportunities, and strengthening relationships across the ecosystem.

Hosted by Dominika Wilinska, Head of Investments at Startup Aarhus, the afternoon combined thought-provoking discussions with plenty of opportunities to meet fellow investors.

Investing in Europe's technological independence

The opening session, “European Tech Sovereignty – Investing in Europe's Technological Independence and Security,” brought together Colin Brown (Spark Mind Capital) and Anders Thorup-Jensen (EIFO).

Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty and rapid technological development, the conversation explored Europe's ambitions to strengthen its technological independence and security – and the role investors can play in building and scaling the companies that will shape Europe's future.

Exploring new approaches to venture investing

How is venture investing evolving, and where are investors placing their bets?

The second session, “Different Bets – New Approaches to Venture Investing,” featured Tine Marie Kjærgaard Lindgreen (Seed Capital), Christoffer H. Malling (Second Foundation Ventures), and Trine Hoffensetz Winther (DanBAN).

Moderated by Dominika Wilinska, the discussion brought different investment perspectives to the stage, exploring emerging strategies, changing market dynamics, and new opportunities for venture capital.

Celebrating Aarhus' startup and investor community

A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the INCUBA Awards 2026, recognising outstanding startups and investors contributing to the growth of the regional ecosystem.

This year, 22 startups and 12 investors were nominated, with two winners receiving the honours:

  • Startup of the Year: Understory – recognising the company's impressive international growth, strong results, and ambitious founders who actively contribute to the ecosystem.
  • Investor of the Year: Mathias Brink Lorenz, Delphinus Venture Capital – recognising his contribution to the startup and investment ecosystem.

The awards celebrated not only individual achievements but also the ambition, entrepreneurship, and commitment that continue to drive the Aarhus ecosystem forward.

One day, two events, one ecosystem

For the first time, Aarhus Investor Summit and Startup Aarhus' Townhall took place on the same day.

While Aarhus Investor Summit focused exclusively on the investment community, the evening brought founders, investors, and other ecosystem players together at Townhall in Turbinehallen.

Together, the two events created a full day dedicated to the people, ideas, and ambitions shaping the future of Aarhus' startup ecosystem.

Looking ahead

Aarhus Investor Summit 2026 highlighted the importance of bringing investors together at a time when technology, geopolitics, and investment strategies are evolving rapidly.

Beyond the discussions on stage, the summit was about the conversations, new perspectives, and relationships that continue long after the event.

A big thank you to all our speakers, participants, and partners – Danske Bank, EIFO, DLA Piper, City of Aarhus, and Startup Aarhus – for making Aarhus Investor Summit 2026 possible.

We look forward to seeing you at Aarhus Investor Summit 2027!
